The SpiraMelt VR Pro series is a high performance vented screw solution for modern vented extrusion applications. The SpiraMelt VR Pro series can be outfitted and modified to accommodate a wide range of extrusion requirements including 2-stage and 3-stage variations (VR Pro 2 and VR Pro 3) and our MVP VR Pro series that includes our high performance barrier section in the first stage. The unique vent and mixing geometry of the VR Pro series maximizes volatile removal, eliminates vent flooding, and produces a high quality extrudate at lower melt temperatures. Unlike conventional vented screws, the VR Pro series has no areas of low flow or stagnation. The SpiraMelt VR Pro series is perfect for sheet, reclaim/pelletizing, side-feeding, or any other extrusion application that demands optimum venting and volatile removal.

Improved Vented Extrusion Operation
The SpiraMelt VR Pro series significantly improves volatile removal when compared to conventional vented screw designs. The SpiraMelt VR Pro series incorporates a spiral mixing chamber to adequately melt and disperse agglomerates prior to venting. The unique channel geometry of the vent section eliminates stagnation and low flow areas. In the vent section, the melt pool is separated into rope-like strands, significantly increasing the surface area of the melt pool for degassing. Traditional vent designs allow for a large blob of resin with low surface area to sit in the bottom of the channel. These designs are prone to hang up and lack sufficient degassing. The unique geometry of the SpiraMelt VR Pro series eliminates vent flooding and greatly improves melt quality, output, and stability of vented extrusion applications that demand optimum volatile removal.
