Can SpiraMelt design screws for injection molding and extrusion applications?

SpiraMelt specializes in custom, high-performance feed screw design. Our team can design a tailored solution for almost any application. Including – injection molding, profile, sheet, film, foam, reclaim, compounding, 2 & 3 stage vented extrusion, and more. Regardless of the resin(s) being processed, we design to the application requirements. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to processing; your business is unique, and you deserve innovative solutions!

What size screws can SpiraMelt supply?

SpiraMelt offers a wide range of screw sizes in almost any configuration. We can supply screws ranging from Ø12mm to 450mm (~0.5″ to ~17.75″) with single-piece construction up to 7,000mm (~23 feet) in length. Longer screws can be produced in multiple sections – either threaded or welded together. Big or small, we can accommodate your production needs!

Does SpiraMelt supply injection molding and extrusion barrels?

We offer a wide range of bimetallic barrel options for both injection molding and extrusion applications! SpiraMelt offers barrels from Ø14mm+ (~0.5″) with sections up to (19.5 feet). We have a full range of tungsten carbide liner options for even the most abrasive and corrosive applications. 

Does SpiraMelt offer injection molding valve assemblies?

The SpiraMelt Shot-Replicator-Valve family offers best-in-class accuracy and repeatability. We have standard, castellated, mixing, and mixing/castellated options for an injection molding machine. Our valves are designed to last, built with premium, through hardened tool steels. We offer valve assemblies ranging from Ø12mm to 250mm (~0.5″ to 9.8″). 

Can SpiraMelt supply screw and barrels made according to MY design?

If you have a design that you know and love, SpiraMelt is happy to accommodate! We can supply screws, barrels, valves, and other melt stream components made according to your specifications. We are happy to serve you!

What are the typical lead times for new equipment?

We strive for fast and accurate lead times. Sadly, most screw suppliers’ lead times are just empty promises. When SpiraMelt estimates a new project for your business, we are open and transparent with lead times so that your team can reliably plan your production schedule. We work closely with all of our vendors to have the fastest lead times possible. If you are in a bind, talk to us about rush delivery – our team will go the extra mile to save you time!

Can SpiraMelt rebuild and repair worn screws?
